Journey through time since WPS:
- After five "wonderful" years at Westlands Primary, Foo Chun drifted on to the sister school, Westlands Secondary. He was posted to Penang Free School after LCE but “jumped ship” to Technical Institute after one week.
- Post-HSC, he accepted the Singapore-sponsored Colombo Plan scholarship which took him to Perth where he “mugged” for four fun years to graduate with a Bachelor in Electrical & Electronic Engineering degree from University of Western Australia.
- After that he returned to Singapore to dutifully serve as "indentured labour" with TAS/SingTel, dabbling in the magical world of data networking and pre-Internet connectivity.
- After his release from Singapore's “bondage”, he decided to chabut to do his MBA at Columbia University in New York
- Upon graduation, he joined AT&T in a corporate finance role in New York. His stint at AT&T ended in Hong Kong where he later entered the world of investment banking with JPMorgan Chase and eventually relocated back to Singapore.
- For most of Foo Chun's working life, he had been in investment banking, working for three global banks (the other two being BNP Paribas and CIBC) with regional responsibilities in the Asia-Pacific, executing and managing corporate, project and structured finance advisory functions/deals covering primarily telecom, media, technology and energy sectors.
