Journey through time since WPS:
  • Seng Huat spent his lower secondary years (1966-68) at Westlands Secondary School (WSS).
  • After the LCE in 1968, a group of 20 students from WSS was sent by the Penang Education Department to Penang Free School (PFS). Seng Huat was in PFS for a week in 1969 before 10 in the group (including him) left for the Technical Institute. Another five returned to WSS while the rest remained at PFS.
  • After the MCE in 1970, he worked at Loytape in Perai for a year.
  • In 1973, he was selected by the Education Ministry to undergo a teacher training course for two years and upon completion, was posted to Pasir Mas, Kelantan. After a five-year stint in Kelantan, he served in various others places — Jeniang (six years), Sungai Petani (four years) and a year in Seberang Jaya.
  • Finally, after working 16 years outside Penang island, he was transferred to the Methodist Boys' School (MBS), Penang. In July 2000, he was promoted to Francis Light School as Senior Assistant. His promotion as the Headmaster of SK Sri Aman was the culmination of his teaching career. He retired on May 8, 2011, upon reaching the then mandatory retirement age of 58.
